Sunset Captiva has a full complement of amenities, which is probably the main reason it's such a popular community.
Stretching from bay to beach, this little enclave has its own docks on the bayside of the island, often a great place to watch manatees or otters.
On the Gulf side of the street, you'll find a nice pool, with plenty of lounge chairs; two hard-surface tennis courts, that are rarely crowded; two picnic areas, perfect for grilling your catch of the day; and, of course, our stretch of Captiva's spectacular beach - miles of uncrowded sand, and facing due west for spectacular sunsets, 52 weeks a year.
The beach is reached by a charming boardwalk which goes behind Captiva's historic Chapel by the Sea.
